2021 Partnerships for Parks Match Program

Have a great idea for a project that improves your NYC neighborhood green space? Want to raise project funds while involving your neighbors and finding volunteers?

Now, when you fundraise on ioby for a project that benefits your local park, community garden, green street, or street trees, you can access up to $1,000 in matching dollars on your ioby campaign through the Partnerships for Parks! Plus you will receive customized, one-on-one fundraising support from one of ioby's experienced crowdfunding coaches.

Eligibility Anyone can apply for matching funds for a project that meets the following criteria. To participate in this program, projects must:1.     Provide a publicly accessible benefit or improvement to an NYC park, anywhere in the five boroughs. Eligible projects might include small physical improvements to parks; events such as cleanup and planting days, community festivals, arts performances, or fitness classes in the parks; purchases of equipment, materials, or professional development services that would facilitate the ongoing work of the park stewardship group.2.     Be led by residents of the neighborhood where the park is located.3.     Not be aimed at making private profit. 4.     Be feasible, legal, and likely to be implemented by June 2017 at latest. Projects should have NYC Parks approval before fundraising begins, if applicable.5.     Have a team of two or more individuals working on the campaign and project; at least one member of the team should have regular internet and computer access and be able to communicate with ioby staff via email. 6.     Plan to post an ioby crowdfunding campaign page by October 24th at latest, and fundraise between October 25th and December 31st, 2016. 7.     Be specific and concrete (such as funding a particular event or program, or purchasing equipment or materials—NOT a vague request for general operating support); ioby campaign pages must include a brief budget outlining how you plan to spend the funds you raise.        Eligible expenses include any costs directly related to the project, including youth and intern stipends, staff payment, travel and transportation, materials and equipment, food and other event or meeting expenses, advertising and marketing, software and hardware, contracted services or consultant fees.
