How does ioby choose where to go? Prior to starting focus work in a new place, ioby performs first-hand research and builds relationships with decision makers and community members on the ground. We call this “Phase 0,” and you can read our published reports from this work here. ioby always begins our work in a new place with a philanthropic partner. Often, funders reach out to us when they are looking for a way to invest directly into grassroots work, find new community-led solutions, and build relationships with local groups.
